Deleting Your Account
- 1Look for your username on your account homepage. Your username is located in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Click on your username.
- 2Scan the drop-down once you have clicked on your username. When you click on your username, a drop-down box will appear. One of the options will be ‘Edit Profile.’ Click on this link.
- 3Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Once you have selected ‘Edit Profile’, you will be sent to a page that contains all of your account information (which you can edit at this time if you want.) Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page where you will see a button that says “I’d like to delete my account.” Click the link.
- 4Answer Instagram’s questions. Instagram will ask you why you want to delete your account. Locate and click the drop-down box that contains the possible reasons why you may want to delete your account. Select the one that best fits your reason (or the one that is most convenient.) Most people select "Other", but if a better reason is already listed, click that link instead.
- If you choose an answer separate from "Other", fill in all other fields Instagram requires.
- 5Re-enter your password. You have to click into the "To continue, please re-enter your password" box in order to do this.
- 6Delete your account. A box will appear stating “Permanently delete my account.” If you are sure you want to delete your account, press enter or click the box. Keep in mind that you will never be able to reactivate your account name and anything you have posted to this account name will be permanently deleted.[2]
